Save a Seat

Kindness sometimes looks like making room.

At church. At the dinner table. On the bleachers. At a community gathering. In a conversation.

Notice the person standing slightly outside the group.

Instead of assuming somebody else knows them, move over.

“You can sit with us.”

Five words. They can mean an awful lot to someone walking into a room where everyone else appears to belong.

Children notice this too. When they see adults include people who are new, lonely or simply different from us, we're quietly teaching them what community is supposed to look like.

This week, don't only look for someone who needs help. Look for someone who needs room.

That's how stronger communities begin.

Good People. Brighter Days. Stronger Together.

Picture idea: A long wooden bench with one open space, fallen autumn leaves nearby and soft afternoon light.
