Sunday Is a Beginning, Not an Ending

Sunday can refill us.

A familiar hymn. Scripture we've read before but somehow hear differently this time. Prayer. Fellowship. A reminder that the worries we carried into the week don't have to be carried alone.

But faith was never intended to stay inside Sunday. It goes home with us.

It shows up Monday morning when patience is thin. Tuesday when somebody needs forgiveness. Wednesday when we're tired. Thursday when we're tempted to worry. Friday when someone needs encouragement. Saturday when gratitude comes easily.

James 1:22 reminds us: “Do not merely listen to the word… Do what it says.”

The message we hear on Sunday becomes especially meaningful when it changes how we treat people on Monday.

Before this Sunday ends, choose one thing from your worship, Scripture reading or prayer time that you want to carry into the coming week. Write it somewhere you'll see it. Then live it.

Sunday takeaway: Don't try to remember ten things. Carry one truth into the week.

Picture idea: A well-used Bible on a wooden table with a church bulletin tucked partly inside, reading glasses and one simple flower.
