We tend to think photographs should wait until everything looks right.
Until everybody is dressed nicely. Until the room is cleaner. Until someone loses weight. Until the vacation. Until the holiday. Until life looks more photograph-worthy.
Take the picture anyway.
Take the photo of Dad grilling in an old T-shirt. Take Grandma sitting in her usual chair. Take the messy birthday-cake face. Take the siblings laughing at something you'll never understand. Take the ordinary Tuesday dinner. Take the picture of the person who always complains about having their picture taken.
Years from now, nobody is going to study the laundry in the background. They're going to look at the people.
We can't keep every season of life—but photographs let us hold onto a few pieces.
And don't forget the person who usually takes the pictures. Hand somebody else the camera once in a while.
From Our Shop
The The Fleming Collective Die-Cut Magnets fit this idea naturally: use one to keep a favorite printed family photo or child's drawing where everyone can see it instead of leaving every memory inside a phone.
Someday, this ordinary picture won't feel ordinary. 🤎
