The Little Things Are Really the Big Things

A family story isn’t written only on vacations, birthdays, weddings, and holidays. Most of it gets written on completely ordinary Tuesdays.

It’s written around a family table with somebody still finishing dinner while somebody else has already wandered away. It’s in handwritten recipes with little stains on the corners, old photographs tucked into drawers, familiar sayings passed from one generation to another, and the stories we’ve heard so many times that we can practically tell them ourselves.

That is a big part of what The Fleming Collective means to us.

We love seeing the world and learning how other people live, but some of the most meaningful parts of family life happen in the ordinary spaces between the adventures. A porch. A kitchen. A conversation that lasts longer than expected. A tradition nobody remembers officially starting.

You don’t need a picture-perfect family to build a beautiful family story. You simply have to keep showing up for one another.

That’s what Sharing Our Family With Yours means to us: sharing the good, the imperfect, the useful, the funny, and the things we learn along the way.
