The Sunday Basket

Here's a simple idea for making Monday morning a little easier: create a Sunday Basket.

Before Sunday evening gets away from you, place the things that need to leave the house tomorrow in one basket near the door.

Library books. Returns. Permission slips. Packages. Keys. A child's school item. Anything you've already said, “Don't let me forget this tomorrow.”

Then add one quick Monday check: Keys? Wallet? Phone? Bags? Anything that needs to leave with us?

It won't make Monday perfect. Someone may still be looking for a shoe five minutes before leaving. But at least the library books won't still be sitting on the kitchen counter.

Simple systems work best when they don't require the whole family to become different people overnight.

Try it tonight: Grab a basket you already own. Don't buy anything. Give it one job: Tomorrow.

Picture idea: Woven basket near the front door with a library book, folded note, keys and reusable bag.

Handmade detail: A kraft-paper tag tied to the basket reading “Going With Us.”
