The Sunday-Night Worry List

Sunday evening can be peaceful right up until your mind remembers Monday exists.

Then it begins. The appointment. The bill. The conversation you need to have. The work waiting. The thing involving one of the kids. The decision you haven't made.

Instead of carrying all of it to bed, try something different tonight.

Take a piece of paper and divide it in half.

On the left write: What I'm carrying. Write everything down.

On the right write: What I can do next.

Some worries will have an action: make the call, send the email, check the calendar. Others won't. Beside those, simply write: Pray and leave it here tonight.

You don't have to solve Monday before Sunday is over. Prepare what you reasonably can. Then let the house get quiet. Tomorrow will arrive soon enough.

Reader takeaway: Preparation can help tomorrow. Worrying about tomorrow all night usually doesn't.

Picture idea: Simple bedside still life with a handwritten two-column list, pen, folded blanket and small vase with one seasonal stem.
