The Twenty-Dollar Kindness Challenge—Without Spending $20

Kindness is often associated with buying something for someone. But some of the most valuable things we can give cost nothing.

Carry groceries for someone. Return their shopping cart. Offer to sit with a child while a tired parent finishes a task. Bring someone's garbage can back from the curb. Give away garden produce you won't use. Teach somebody something you know how to do. Sit beside the person who is alone. Call instead of just thinking, “I should call them.”

The challenge today isn't to spend $20. It's to find a way to make someone's day feel $20 easier without spending anything.

That is the kind of generosity almost everyone can practice.

Good People. Brighter Days. Stronger Together.
