Big moments usually get photographs.
Birthdays. Graduations. Weddings. Vacations. Christmas morning.
But when we look back on family life, sometimes the things we miss most are much smaller.
The familiar sound of everyone coming through the door. Somebody calling from another room. A child sitting at the kitchen table. A basket of laundry that somehow never stays empty. The same stories being told again—and everyone laughing anyway.
Ordinary life can feel repetitive while we're living it. Later, we may realize it was actually the good stuff.
That is part of what The Fleming Collective is about: paying attention to the life happening between the milestones.
We don't have to make every day extraordinary. Maybe we simply need to become better at recognizing the ordinary days that are already worth remembering.
Sharing Our Family With Yours.
Reader question: What completely ordinary thing about your family do you think you'll miss someday?
This counts, too. 🤎
